We are IYH making aliyah this august. Hoping to send to Darchei Noam/Bnos Malka. We have advanced degrees and are working. No TV, wear a sheitel, tights, etc. English speaking and not great Hebrew. Not sure how else to describe us but let me know if there are any other things that might make a difference one way or another.
Do you think there's a place for us in RBS Gimmel? We just saw a great apartment there but want to be sure we'd be a good fit for the neighborhood.
Also, is there shopping in Gimmel? We won't have a car.

There are many people like you in rbsg. Some shuls/communities to consider are Ezra Hasofer, Kol Yehuda, and Darchei Yitzchak.
There isn't great shopping without a car, but many families sign up for mishnat yosef weekly sales. You'll need a stroller or bubby cart. There's an excellent makolet/grocery store, but it's more expensive and you won't want to do your full shopping there.

Sounds like a great fit! The aleph shopping center is only a bus ride away. You can get whatever you need in Gimmel it just might be less selection and more money.

Yes, sounds like you would fit in. It can vary from block to block so if you share the area in which you saw the apartment we can be more specific.

Also, please speak to other families about schooling. I know several Bnos Malka families that recently switched to Magen Avot. I have no knowledge personally about the schools.
