Yes I do it all the time when I make hamburgers. Usually like 6-8 mins each side depending on how well done you like it

What do you mean by straight in the oven? I would definitely put it on a pan or it will be a huge mess. Preferably one with a wire rack so the fat can drip off. Otherwise, yes, of course you can!

Some people do season hamburgers simply with salt, pepper and maybe garlic powder before forming the patties.
You would broil in a broiler pan elevated to catch the fat. You have to flip the patties.
