theres that lefkowitz pride Very Happy
in fact afaik they were bdavka gebentcht with parnussah and arichas yumim because of these accusations. the older generation of lefkowitz brothers, the oldest being my great grandfather (hershel) all lived till well into their 90s. when my grandfather passed away at 87 my aunts were shocked cuz he was too young.

how are we related???

Hi cousin!! I’m a very proud lefkowitz einikel! My family is obsessed with the lefkowitz yichus. We always talk about stories of our ancestors.

I always used to say that it was so unfair because ALL lefkowitz brothers survived the war, except my great grandfather chaim yochenen. 😢. And you’re right, they all had arichas yomim and beautiful parnuse bh.

The ‘baby’ brother , our great great uncle passed away about 2 years ago at 100 years!!

I was so sad that a mega chapter in the lefkowitz family finished. But we continue on with our beautiful dores.

My grandmother never told her children that she was from a holy tzaddik.
When her kids were teens she found out they they knew,
She was so mad at the person who told the family. She felt like they will have pride without work.
She was of the opinion that the only value is your own actions.
She was a direct descendant of one of the talmidei hamaggid.

The Lubavitcher Rebbe is from Dovid Hamelech. All the generations are listed. This is through the Maharal of Prague.

So anyone from the Maharal of Prague can trace this.

Dovid Hamelech is 33rd generation from Adam Harishon. Maharal is 114 from Adam, 81 from Dovid Hamelech.
The Alter Rebbe was 119 from Adam. Ben achar Ben from Dovid Hamelech

I have a copy of the list but don’t know how to post on my slow phone.

I have seen the chain from the maharal from Prague to David hamelech, it is definitely missing generations.
To quote my original comment “there are no KNOWN descendants from dovid hamelech who can PROVE their lineage”. I didn’t say there are no descendants at all, they must be somewhere but since they had a complicated galus, there are only documentation of a few generations following dovid hamelech and then there whereabout and what happened to them is unknown.
Those that claim to be his descendants are based on family tradition but there is no supportive evidence to it.
Seems like I hit a raw nerve by stating well researched facts.

How is this appropriate to post?? You should ashamed of yourself for shaming an entire family. (I’m not part of that family and I only have a vague idea of what you’re talking about, it doesn’t smell right)

I don’t think this should be posted on a public forum. I have heard that if you know of questionable marriageable status going back generations you should consider not being meshadech but it should not be spread about the family to others that don’t know.

Us either! That’s why I would love to find more. It’s a very small family on that side.

Anyone else here an einikel of "the" Bubby Shifra Miriam a"h?

(and for those who aren't quite sure what to do with this thread, here's what I know to be true about yichus. It's just a bunch of zeroes... You're the"1" You need to make something of yourself for it to be meaningful, for your "1" to preceed the zeroes. And you can be the start of a yichus that future generations will identify with pride)
