Very awkward to talk about it.
ETA My cousins are decendents too and they have a very hard time in shidduchim. They marry different Lefkowitz cousins. I guess the family is big enough. |
There is boba yittela Schwartz and boba Lefkowitz. Two different ones.

Hi
I'm a descendant of Yisroel Bollag of Baden, Switzerland.
We're a huge family, Bly Ayin Hara.
He had 10 kids, who in turn had their big families.
And because they lived in Switzerland, they all B'H survived the war.
I highly doubt I'm the only one here...

Regarding the chassidish yichus more common I have heard this is because most of lita and Germany were wiped out in the war. So majority of people are descendants of chassidim. Also there was lower rates of assimilation, so more frum descendants that know their lineage.
I'm a descendant of R' Avraham Schreiber (and therefore ksav sofer, chasam sofer and R' Akiva Eiger). Anyone else?

Many people say they are grandchildren, but don’t have names to prove it.
They”ll say they’re a grandchild of xx who has been known to say they’re a descendant of dovid hamelech. They won’t have names for every generation to prove it.
I’m very into genealogy and have proven it right to people who’ve shown me their so called lineage and we saw there’s a gap in generations. (Like they’ll have 20 names in a place where there should’ve been 30 because it goes till a well known person who’s been said to a grandchild of his and maybe another few generations higher and then it’s missing a certain amount of people till David hamelech)
I’m not sure why people hearted my posts.
It is a well known topic to anyone into genealogy. It is actually fascinating.
https://aish.com/davidic-line-today/ “… Beyond that, there is no concrete evidence as to the whereabouts of King David’s descendants.…”- (excerpt from article explaining what is known about his descendants)
Look it up there are many articles on this topic.

Just to add-
David Hamelech’s tree is locked on Geni- the world family tree, because people shouldn’t connect it as a descendant of his because it is inevitably missing names and people mess up the tree if they claim to trace their lineage directly to him but aren’t aware there’s a gap in generations they are missing.
