You can be their neighbor, teacher, friend etc. And the world is so big there might just (probably will) be another person with that name.
Otherwise your post just sounds like:
"I know the most uncommon name but im not telling nah nah nah..." I dont get it |
Being that I have never heard of anyone with the same name as this person except the relative I named for (no one else named for them yet), it would actually out me. And the child isn't in school yet so teachers or friends.

Yes but you do know that you have family- siblings and cousins that know of this name, right?
And some neighbors
Friends...

It’s not just about Shtetl, I know Syrians who are called Jamila or Reina. Personally, I stick to biblical names, because that’s the true Mama Loshon. Not Yiddish or Arabic. But that’s my unpopular opinion. |
I'm a Rayna-its yiddish for pure.

Shabbos, Yom Tov, Pesach - question is why no one names their kids Shavuos or Sukkos?

Yom Tov and Pesach are considered "normal" names. Why? I don't know but they don't belong on this thread.

To the poster who wants to name Manoach - I don't know anyone with that name, possibly because according to most meforshim I think Shimshon's mother was a big tzadeikes but his father was a bit of an am ha'aretz.

Oh yes and I know a Bruria. Didn't think of it but it's very unusual.

I know a Davida and an Aharona. I also met a Mazal Tov (apparently it's a more common name in Argentina?) and a Menorah (she was from the Netherlands and went by Noor).

I know three women named Berouria or Bruria. One sefardi, two ashkenasi, one in her eighties, one in her sixties, one about 30.

I’m pretty sure she meant it’s a first name.
Rav Nosson Zvi’s last name was Finkel.
I can’t tell if you’re genuinely asking or joking.
Finkel and Finkelstein are fairly common Ashkenaz Jewish family names.
Finkel as a girls first name is uncommon. I know one. It means spark in Yiddish. Shalhevet or Orit would make a pretty good switch if someone’s naming after.

So you are the only person in the world who has ever met this person or heard their name??
Now this is a name I’ve gotta hear!
