Boy do I feel old to think that books published in the 2000s are read by teenagers.

I read avner gold series dozens of times. For anyone who hasn't read the new versions please treat yourself to it.

I loved to read as a teenager but there weren't so many books then.

During covid lockdown when libraries were closed I looked for all my old favorites on Amazon and bought used versions of whatever I could for cheaper. I love having these books around.

I love vintage authentic classics. Some of the newer books feel so fake to me. Like an invented Holocaust story? Who on earth needs a fake story when there are plenty of real ones?

There were no English-language Jewish novels when I was a teen, and I sure wasn't about to break my head reading SY Agnon or I L. Peretz! Their short stories in Ivrit class were quite enough to last a lifetime.

There was another one - a boy, BT, on the cusp of getting married gets his family background called into question. Research reveals that in the past, a family member - maybe his aunt? - left the fold and was treated as dead by her family. Everything resolves at a graveside forgiveness scene.

Help with the title?

sounds like maybe a chaim eliav book? I loved his novels as a teen.

I got the pomegranate pendant on Amazon. There's also a sequel called seeds of the pomegranate that is good but not as good.

I also read most of these books as an adult. I feel so old.

Is this the one about the girl who comes to Israel from Yemen? I loved that book! Had no idea there was a sequel.

YES.

We had a few random ones, not the whole set, so I would just jump in and out of these people's lives

The set is for sale now I believe I saw it advertised!

Me too!
I just remembered another one. I think it was called " My name is Saadiya". The same author also wrote another novel that had white cover with some kind of orange and brown design in it but I can't for the life of me remember the name....anybody know what I'm talking about? Google is not being helpful. Those novels were also very popular at my school.
