Dollhouse was about a little girl with divorced parents.
The book mentioned us about a girl Gili with a little sister Elisheva, can't remember the title.
Another favorite is The legacy by Miriam luxenberg. I must have read it tens of times growing up

I remember feeling very accomplished when I read 5 Novelettes by Dr Marcus Lehman compiled in a single volume.

The Little Princess and The Secret Garden are wonderful books, but they are by Frances Hodgeson Burnett, not a Jew.

An old Marcus Lehman book in my parents basement was a favorite. His writing is beautiful, even translated. I still try to obtain every title I can, without breaking the bank.

The story definitely took place in Israel. (They lived in Bnei Brak and her grandparents in Yerushalayim)

Someone was a few years ago thinking of reprinting them and translating the ones that were not. Not all of his books were translated from German.

Unfortantly nothing came about that.

I read those when I was much too young probably....way before I was a teen.

I almost never remember characters' names from the books I've read, unless there was something very distinctive about the name. I'm amazed when people say something like, the protagonist was a girl named Chana....

Can’t remember the others.
One where the husband goes off the derech and abandons his family. Anyone remember?

What a shame they sanitized the stories for todays readers and threw away those they thought don’t “pas” for todays generation.
