Yes, Meyer Bendet books were written so engrossing and interesting, especially at a time of so few Jewish books.

Who remembers the two volumes of The Orphan?

also, The Little Black Box? (a few books as well).

My mother still has loads of these books in her house. She's putting them together to make a small library (Lakewood-based).

I got the pomegranate pendant on Amazon. There's also a sequel called seeds of the pomegranate that is good but not as good.

I also read most of these books as an adult. I feel so old.

I loved so many of the books mentioned here! So nostalgic. I read the secret life of chani greenberg and the will so many times.

I’ve switched to reading nonjewish books as an adult. Are Jewish books still good these days? My parents had the money to buy Jewish books but I can’t say I do.

And Search my Heart, also by Sarah Birnhack.

I think this was more of a pre teen novel but when "A Problem Called Chavi" came to our school library I remember waiting anxiously for weeks before I could borrow it. I have no recollection of what it was about though, just that I and every other girl at school was desperate to read it.
