Does your childrens school or camp, for that matter, have fire drills?

There's a law here that they have to have them, but they never do. In the school I teach, they had one last week because the inspector was coming, but otherwise they never do What . My kids school they never had one Banging head .
Actually they don't call it a fire drill, they call it a bomb drill. I think that sounds scarier.

I don't know about camp, but the school I work at, we have monthly fire drills. I guess some school are a little more on top of these things than others. I know that here in FL it's required monthly.
It's quite annoying for teachers especially when it happens at nap time, but better safe than sorry!!

My mil is a principal in an elementary school. She told me once that she calls fire drills on days that she feels too cooped up and wants an excuse to get outside. LOL

That's great!
When I was in High School we'd have fire drills sometimes "because it was a nice day!"

I'm pretty sure all the schools here do--it's a legal requirement and is definitely important.

yes & the fire chief came & yelled if we wern't fast enough or taking it seriously enough. ditto about the tornado drills- we had to sit by our lockers until the all clear. we have fire drills every other day in the hospital

How does that work- fire drills at a hospital?
And every other day?
I always wondered what is done with the patients in case of an emergency...

a slight exaggeration. the fire marshal decided he didn't like us & kept popping in for surprise visits. usually during the fire drills you have to close all the doors (b/c they are fire proof)- every patient door, every hall door. the hallway has to be completely clear of equipment. they usually announce overhead where the fire is. it will be like- code red- first floor storage room 123 or whatever. usually the real fires in the hospital are either in the kitchen or some waste disposal room, unless someone was smoking somewhere they shouldn't. you don't want to know what happened in the 2003 blackout. the generators were used for the ICU's and essential equipment and lighting. but every patient meal tray needed to be carried up the stairs & the hospital has like 900 beds and 9-10 floors. it was fun.
