Trying to save money on dying my own wig, which I've done in the past.
I'm looking for a medium/dark brown color, probably around a #4 in shaitel numbers.
In the past, I've used Revlon Dark Brown #30 but it's gotten a bit too dark for me. Also used Schwarzkopf 4.0 cappuccino, which is also nice but dark. Any suggestions? I don't want to take a chance since some colors don't come out the way they look on the box...

For sheitel go one shade lighter than you want.
If you want it dark brown buy medium brown
If you want it medium brown buy light brown.
Hair on wig is extremely processed and absorbs a lot of dye.
Do not leave on as long as box says!! That's for gray hair, not your sheitel!
L'oreal cream is nice(pink box)
Apply vertically not horizontally!
Eta: I'm a sheitel macher and have seen lots of diy dyes! Try only if you feel confident not to ruin your wig!!

Thanks for the response! Thank you for the tips, I do follow those directions. Also am careful to avoid the part. It's not a lace front/top, so it's a less delicate wig.
