My mother only purchased American shoes because they were considered the strongest . They had rounder toes and wooden souls and were not as dainty as European shoes .

Those black wraparound skirts from Israel.
Stevenson denim skirts
Steve Maden clunky Shabbos shoes -- they were so ugly!
Trolls!
Trapper keepers. Ooh, and reinforcements.
Those crayon boxes with sharpeners in the back.
Those zigzag headbands that made it look like your hair was parted strangely
The twirly shoelaces so you didn't have to tie your shoes
Intentionally keeping a clump of hair out of your pony on each side so that it framed your face
Those metal bracelets that said "libi bamizrach"
Balloon barettes and ribbon barettes

I must have missed this trend.
Wooden soles? You sure they weren't Dutch shoes?

When I was ten everyone had a bulky ugly blue closed shoe with a maroon velcro, very much like a boys style shoes.
When I was in preschool it was more like the straightless shoes worn to correct feet. Like right and left look the same

Also a specialty was if someone brought you from Israel those hard plastice clogs, same style as crocks like a closed front with holes in it. The wooden ones might have had a strap with a buckle in front

When I got married, printed padded toilet seat with same print on shower curtain and cloth wrapped hamper. Ot was peach with pastel colors. It also had matching print accessories, garbage can and even towels, with pleated fabric in this print attached to the towels. Then we coordinated a wall paper to it.

I feel ancient.
The rotary phones if you made a mistake, you had to start all over again.
Those banging typewriters in the typing room. If you made a mistake there was no delete. You had to go back to that word and override it with xx's on top of letter or word that was a mistake

The grand standard gift from chosson and kallah friends was a huge stereo system. Night of my wedding both the chosson and kallah's friends met up in my apt, realizing both brought the same gift, sneaking in to apt, while we were at wedding

My mother was once talking about how toilet paper was different colors and you brought the color to mach your bathroom.

Maybe this was jus my OOT school: But I remember wearing a colored t shirt under my uniform shirt and having a little bit of showing through through the opening of the collar. Early 2000s.
Also purposefully leaving a tiny bit hair out of your pony and having it dangle in your face. If you were super cool maybe you would braid it 😂.

Round bulky sturdy awkward bowling oxford type shoes.
My mom only allowed Italian (or American) and said everything else was junk. Thank God we went with Italian each year, narrow neat laces, Daniel something brand. But really wanted the cool slip ons. Once I was 12/13, she said my feet were mature enough to finally handle those.

Plastic padded toilet seats that eventually ripped and hurt when you sat on them!! 😬
