My kids throw up in the car a lot….we’ve tried all different meds and ideas, but at this point are just resigned to keeping it contained.
Anyway- bags were a disaster- sometimes they sprung a leak- I had to hold it upright mid air until I d found a safe way to dispose of it, and the kids somehow always managed to start wretching while I’m fumbling to open the bag etc…

So now we take along disposable 2 lb containers with lids.
The rigid larger opening is better for aiming, there are no hidden holes, and they can be sealed with a lid until disposed of (and even reused- I’ve rinsed mid journey).

Been working great! The car and the kids are much cleaner! Anyways if this applies to you try it!

To add to this idea- line the container with a Ziploc bag, after a throw up incident, just seal the bag and toss. Contains the mess and the smell

I love this!

Have child wear a full long sleeve smock over car seat straps and a towel on legs

My toddler always wears a large “breching bib”! But it’s only for what I don’t catch in time!

We’ve found Benadryl works the best for my kids.
Ginger ale and pretzels help minimally

They sell special barf bags that have a mask like part that can seal over the mouth.

I use those when I’m pregnant and going anywhere in the car. Helps that I can hold it around against my face, fully around my mouth, but under my nose, so I don’t smell the vomit.

You twist it and it seals into a groove in the top.

Depends on the brand.
Seal and toss.
I first saw it in Hazolah ambulance when I was vomiting nonstop 😳

Buy cheap towels from Walmart and throw them out, don't bother trying to save them and wash them.

One of my older kids recently got car sick but threw up into the Toss It bags hanging right in front of their seat which they could seal up as soon as they were done.

I tried these after shopping bags, but Ziplocks really didn’t sit well with me, I didn’t feel comfortable putting them down even fully sealed….liquid leaks out. And the it was too flimsy. If it worked for you, great!

Seal and toss where? If it isn’t firm, I find myself holding the vomit for a while..which is gross…until I can get out and toss it.

I took my son to an OT once for an eval for soemthing else and it came up and she mentioned tht it has soemthing to do with the eyes I don’t rem what she was saying but she said tht ppl are not supposed to be like that and that if he is carsick it should be treated to fix the problem so it goes away. I know I sound crazy I thought she did too I dont rem what she said it comes from and tht she could treat it. I didn’t end up going ahead with OT so we never did anything about it but if any of those that posted have an OT they use. maybe run it past them

I did some googling and while probably not what she had in mind, apparently amazon sells carsickness glasses with good reviews!
