My dd10 was absent from school the whole week due to a virus. Nobody called, including the teachers. The girls in the class did tell my son to wish her a refua shelama. (not a co-ed school, but in the same building) She's iy"h, hopefully, going back to school Monday, but do you think I should say something to the teachers?

I think you should mention something to the teacher about arranging something that when a child is missing even for just one day, the teacher should organize that one or two friends should call. your DD would feel muhc better and so would other missing girls do.

I think you definitely should mention something to the teacher. It is a school policy in my school that we call after two days' absence. Maybe the teacher did not realize she was away so long.

That is unusual. Do mention it, maybe to the principal, and ask if there is a standard thing they do when a child is absent.

I'm surprised the teacher didn't call to at least ask if you wanted her homework and classwork...

yes I would call. growing up we had a buddy system that the teacehr arranged and whenever your partner was abscent you were responsible to take their homework for them and call them. she tried to arrange it by neighborhoods so we could drop off stuff but if not we just gave them the stuff when they got back to school and the teacher let them do the work later.
I think that the kdis should in general be encourage to call abscent classmates
