Thank you to everyone that responded. It’s good to know that not “everyone” is bringing those huge boxes of mike n Ike’s and gazillions of nosh.

I allow 1 special treat for a trip. It's usually more exciting than the trip itself!! My kids don't have weekly trips, more like twice a summer.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s ok to get nosh for trips? I’m in my 30’s and I remember going to the store to get nosh and snacks for trips. Maybe we had less trips back then so it was less frequent, I don’t remember.

I actually introduced the idea to my kids the first year they went to camp because I thought it was standard and I didn’t want them to feel left out on the trip.

(I grew up in Lakewood if that matters)

When you have 6-8 kids going on 1-2 trips a week forget about the money. It becomes a whole situation to get the kid to the store and buy soda with disgusting $3 candy that makes the kid throw up etc…plus other garbage. What for?

I have 4 kids going on these trips.
We went to the store and stocked up. A bunch of the "noshes", bottles of snapple, bottles of coke, pastries to go, snack bags and gum. If they're going on a trip, they can take from this stock. So they got to go to the store and choose and I'm not running Tuesday for one kid, Wednesday for the next and Thursday for the third...

I also bought the soda in target, the nosh and pastries in bingo etc. It cost but not as much as running to the closer grocery last minute
