Dh and I (well, dh) cannot stand the frozen gefilte fish loaves. He always comments that it either tastes like, excuse my French, a fart or smells like a rotted corpse. He loves the gefilte fish his grandma used to make but we cannot get in touch with her now. I was wondering if anyone has a recipe for a sweet, but not too sweet, gefilte fish from scratch recipe. Please??? (I would like to surprise him this Shabbos)

Maybe you should try a different brand!
I've made g fish for Pesach. It was ok, but the amount of fish you need makes it very expensive.
