This story takes place close to 30 years ago. We lived in a nice sized community near Jerusalem. We basically knew all our neighbors. I really don't know from whose home our little Kiwi was sent from, but I know that it did pass into my home and many others as well. After Purim some women were asking about interesting MM they received. Somehow the little Kiwi was spoken about and that this was the story. Kiwi in those years was not a common fruit at all here.(Israel). So many women saw it in their MM, and not sure how to eat it as it is hairy on the outside. People weren't even sure what it was. It was passed from one basket to the next until I assume it found a home that decided to say a Bracha over it. It really was funny and thinking back now, it's even funnier. Hope you all had a lovely Purim!

This is the Jewish version of the Xmas fruit cake. LOL

Almost everyone hates fruit cake but it turns up and theoretically can last for many years because it is soaked in liquor.

I wonder what they would have done with a rambutan. LOL

It tastes a bit like a lychee but lychees are much more delicious. Unfortunately lychees have a very short season as they are only available for a few weeks in June. Sad

People didn't know what a pineapple was in those days? How to cut it? If I would have received a pineapple, I wouldn't pass him along. Smile
