I usually make brisket and comes out really good soft and juicy (baked in pan juices) I want to try something new for guests and wondering if French roast comes out the same or just as good. It’s on sale now for about the same price, usually it’s more per pound. Don’t want it to turn out a hard disaster tho and be disappointed. TIA

Thanks for the quick replies. I’ll send my husband to buy the French roast then. The reason I never made it honestly is because my mil always makes it on Chag and I never like it, always too chewy and hard.

Anyone have a good recipe to try? I like when it comes out really juicy.

Probably the cooking method... If you like your regular brisket recipe, I would just use the same one and it should work well.

This is the recipe I have used in the past and liked.

Slice onions and garlic and place on bottom of roaster. Add roast and season with garlic powder salt and pepper. Mix equal parts duck sauce, tomato sauce and red wine and pour over roast. Cover tightly and bake at 300 for 45 min per lb.

We like French roast much better. It's softer and less dry

Sounds good, but the magic ingredient is a cup of cola. Id rather not use cola or any soda. Will the roast taste very different without the soda?
