hiya
I have a 8 month old daughter who had three ear infections each one two weeks after the other I took her to a homeopath her gave her some drops and he also told me to keep her off milk and wheat. the milk I havent kept her off because she is on materna and as ive just moved didnt want to change it but I have kept her off wheat so far and although she has in the meantime had other illnesses she hasnt had an ear infection for about a month. after seeing specialists in israel I would def go and ask to be refered to one in england where I now live if I had this problem again

WHenever I or baby have a cold, we cut out dairy. Dairy thickens your mucus which makes it harder to get well and increases the chances of ear infections.

My son had numerous ear infections and colds until he was 2. He also had reflux and chrontic diarehea. I finally went took him to an allergist because I thought he might me allergic to milk. BINGO the allergist said he was allergic to milk.

He hasn't has a cold, ear infection, vomited(which he did everyday a few times) or bad diarehea since I strictly took him off milk. I would rather take him away from milk then pump him up with medicines. When I spoke to a baby stomach specialist he said that reflus happens for 2 reasons, 1. food allergy and 2. under developed digestive system.
Saying that you breastfed, doesn't make a difference because what you eat is in your milk. My son had reactions to the milk while I was nursing, it was less severe but he still had a reaction. I hardly drank milk but the times I did he would get a "cold" and be kvetchy, how coincedental. Repeated exposures made my sons allergy worse. When I found out that my son was allergic to milk he was already on high does of an adult reflux medicine. B"H he is now a much more pleasent child and a healthier child that has not taken an antibiotic or reflux medicine since stoppping dairy. My second son I also suspected is allergic to dairy because the only time he ever spit up was during a time the I ate alot of dairy and he hasn't spit up since I stopped dairy.

People think that allergies or food sensitivies are a new thing but I really don't think so, I think people just didn't realize that their child was allergic. Sometimes its a small reaction and no one notices. Just that the baby is crying alot. A baby crying isn't an inconvience but a way for the baby to communicate. It our job as parents to find out whats wrong not to find a way to cope with the crying.

I have numerous friends who were told thier child has reflux only to find out that they were allergic to a certain food.

What can it hurt to stop feeding dairy to a child if the alternative is lots of medicine or surgery. I know that after seeing my son on lots of medicines and a small hospital procedure that they had to put him to sleep for, I am much happier not giving him dairy (much less invasive).

My question is. Why treat the symtoms if you can get rid of the whats making the child sick?
