Husband hold them down and you spread legs and stick it in. It’s not fun but very necessary.

All the way in? The stick looks too wide and long for her private part
I'm scared to hurt her

Are you sure it's a yeast infection and not smegma? Yeast infections are uncommon for kids that age.

Those things with the sticks are not made for kids! They're made for adults. A dr. prescribed this and a pharmacist gave you this for a 3yo? Ask the doctor or a pharmacist. Don't just try to force things, you can traumatise her. They gave you internal first thing instead of topical to try first? How did the doctor diagnose this?

This is terrible advice. This whole thing sounds off.

not true!! they are very common at that age when still wearing diapers. it usually presents as a very bad diaper rash. With my kids I never ever had to put anything inside of them, only antifungal cream on the area. Make sure to apply it every time you change her or every time she goes to the bathroom. hatzlocha!!

Nope, nope, nope.

This is how you traumatize a kid for life. It's basically SA; even if your intent is medical treatment, the kid's body doesn't know that.

Dd3 kept having them until someone told me to apply antifungal cream. Worked like magic after 2 applications and hasn’t come back since. Very common in toddlers that don’t wipe well after the bathroom.

Ok maybe bc my kids weren't in diapers then I didn't see it? I recently thought 3yo had a yeast infection and my doc said that's uncommon, and that's smegma. It's basically cells buildup between vulva and labia. Dh had been doing her baths at night and didn't think he really had to clean there. Anyway, doc said it was harmless, it can also happen to uncircumcised men but that it can be fixed by cleaning there. Dd was freaking out at me touching her or cleaning her there, and contrary to that OP, I refuse to hold her down and force myself there, omg, what kind of message is that sending. So I explained to her what was happening and what we were doing and empowered her to learn how to do it herself with a washcloth. I think I did it the first few times and now she does it.

The idea of sticking an adult applicator in there is freaking me out and the fact that OP doesn't even know how to do it makes me wonder if either the doc or the pharmacist gave her directions. Which they should.

My daughter used to have yeast because she slept in pull-ups, and has sensitive skin.
Was always just topical nystatin. Worked like a charm. try that first. An applicator internally on a 3 year old sounds very off

Sounds strange.
What are the symptoms? Could it be pinworms?

This sounds very wrong
Nystatin topically sounds more typical
Maybe speak to Your doctor and verify exactly what the directions are.

I would literally call child services if I heard of someone doing this to their child

Are you sure it’s not topically?
Our pediatrician told me that the yeast infection can’t be internal until puberty…
