Is this normal ? (11 year old boy)

Recently he is a different kid.. he’s always been an easy to please mostly pleasant kid. Def has an intensity to his personality but overall not my hardest kid… lately he is so argumentative, very unhappy, complaining a ton, talking about everything other kids have that he doesn’t, and being overall pretty disrespectful. It’s nothing extreme extreme just a change. Is this like a pre-puberty thing? He’s definitely growing a ton and has a huge almost insatiable appetite. Gets hungry so often and becomes impossible until he gets food in his system…. Trying to keep up lol… trying to be calm living and patient with him. But it’s so hard,wow! Wondering where my sweet little boy went

Sounds normal although you may want to have a gentle curious conversation about how things are going at school and with friends.
With my DD the change was also dramatic but there wasn't the eating situation.
