Reading the thread about going to the Rebbe's Ohel, I couldn't help thinking about this story.
When DH started working in B&H, they were all interested to know about his "people" (the Lubavitchers) and all about him. One guy from Belzer thought it would be fun to make fun of him, and everyday, he'd ask him how is his Rebbe.
DH tried to explain that we don't go to the Ohel everyday, and you definitely don't ask the Rebbe how he fares!
But the guy kept on. So DH kept telling him that he's good.
One day, after about 2-3 weeks, when this Belzer chossid asked DH, DH answered as follows:
"Actually, I did go today! And you'd never believe whom I met there! The Belzer Rebbe was there, davvening. And when we both finished, you're Rebbe came over to me and asked me if I knew Yossi Cohen. I told him sure, my desk is right next to his. And he asked me to please pass you a message that he hasn't seen you in a long time!"
The Belzer chossid's face went bright red.
The Belzer guy finally stopped teasing DH.
BTW, DH was not in the Ohel that day. He just made up the story to Mr. Belzer to knock him off his back. And it worked!
THIS POST DOES NOT BASH BELZER CHASSIDIM! THIS GUY JUST HAPPENED TO BE ONE.

thanks. Yeah. Quite often he'll say something quite sarcastic, yet ppl will believe him. At times, even I don't know if he's serious.
Anyone heard of Farbrengen Shtark? It's a very strong (25%?) wine by Kesser. Well, 2 years ago, it had just come out. And by the seder, there was this guy from my sister's Chabad house. My BIL couldn't convince the guy to drink 4 cups on wine. He'd only do grape juice. DH tasted a bit of the Shtark, and gave this whole fancy description, - luscious, red grapes, you can taste the wood from the barrels,...... - and the guy decided to drink the 4th cup with that. What a surprise he had!
He has another even funnier story from work, but I won't say it here bec. I don't want to embarrass someone who is here on this site.

I know s/o who works at B&H & he told me over a story.
S/o asked him what he had for breakfast & he said cereal & bread.
So the guy said it's brought down that s/o who eats bread with cereal is stupid.
I wonder if that was the same man who was annoying ur dh. Because both stories show the same kind of thoughtlessness...
Also, anyone know if that's true what he said?

it does say in gemara of a place where ppl ate 'bread with bread' that those ppl were not smart. the gemara doesnt say it for nothing but imdho he thinks it means dealing with issues. sandwiching 2 'likes' ie asking: can G-d create Everything? and then asking: can He create a mountain that can not be climbed?!
to say eating bread with cereal makes for stupidity is plain dumb. totally out of text to the analogy of those ppl. even tho bread and cereal may both be made of grains/carbs.

I think that guy might've forgotten that little fact in his embarrassment.
In any case, the point got across.

SORRY! I apologize!
I meant to write in the first post,, that I was just using Belzer as an example, bec. I couldn't remember which type of chossid, and I didn't want to disturb DH at that moment when writing. That was just the first thing that came to my mind.
Anyways, I just called DH to find out.
It was a Munkatcher.
Now, call me naive, where does the Munkatcher Rebbe live? Bec. if he doesn't live in NY, it just proves that this guy is even dumber.
