this is what we had:

challa
focaccia
baked gef fish
chatzilim
white bean dip
garlic clove chicken
rosemary garlic roast baby potatoes (they were so good greenfire)
kasha varnishkas
stri fry veggies
rugelach (from freezer)
leftover cookies from babys kiddush

there were about 30 ppl, adults plus our kids

dinner was matza ball soup with rutabagas
mushroom broccoli kugel
it was just for us 2

lunch we had guests and I made
chicken pot pie (crust made from scratch and it rocked!)
brussles sprouts
more MB kugel
green salad w pine nuts and cherry tomatoes
papaya and sorbets

Takeout challah, takeout chicken soup, takeout dip and takeout kugel. Yuck.

Next day, takeout cake, takeout challah, takeout liver, cholent from the neighbor, apple pie from the neighbor, and jellybeans until I fell asleep.

I had that experience. My mom was visiting and staying in Manhattan and I stayed over Thursday night by her and then, this was in the pre trips era, DH and DD met us at her apartment and we ordered everything in. Back then the caterer was downstairs which made things extra convenient!

Menu:
White fizzy wine
Bought egg challos and rolls

Baked gef with salsa on top
Crunch of almond salad
Linguini salad from our site

Soup from freezer, the end of the soup nuts

Chicken – with sauce of soy sce, bbq sce, and some ketchup squirted on top, and sprinkled ginger
Potato kugel from skillet, if there’s time

I don’t know if there’s gonna be any dessert, depends on what’s left from the mishloach manos, I think

Anyone ready for this week yet ?

We have Purim wine to use up
Guess I'll buy challos & rolls - I have in freezer but I'll be shechted if I use them, most probably.

Fish - no idea what kind yet
Purpl cabbage salad from our site
Cuke salad cuz I feel like it - or maybe I shoudln't (we eat a lot of that kind of thing over Pesach)

Defrosted chicken soup - our last package from freezer, end of the soup nuts

Chicken - no idea what kind yet
Potato kugel from skillet

Baking - maybe I will make a brownie, cake cream cheese, peanut butter kind of thing

Vermicelli-crusted blue cheese tomato quiche (I know that sounds weird but I'm hoping it's better than it sounds)
Sweet potato pancakes with Lime Cream sauce
Salad with some homemade dressing (not sure which)
Fudge Chocolate Chip cake (made by my son and his friend)
