local newspaper, bullitin boards in stores, phone book (for agencies) but word of mouth is usually teh best. Ask ppl who they use, if the person is avaialable etc.

the biggest fear with hiring help is regarding their honesty. That's why I prefer to hire help referred by friends.

We have good friends that got embezled $30,000 by their hired help over about a year.

they have a lot of money and didn't realize their account going down over time, as they themselves had expenses etc...... until they were out of town and their account moved! they flew home immediately, confronted the girl/woman and within 24 hours got a check for the full amount. It helped that this woman's boy friend was some 'big' name's nephew.

Thanks for all the advice. Maybe during work I'll call some places.

Today I got a cute brochure in the mail it says "The wrong people are cleaning your house!" Then on the bottom there is a picture of a lady and it says "Especially since it's me!"

Okay, I am lousy at cleaning house, I got a cleaning lady before I had my baby.
Now a few months later, DH wants me to get rid of her so we can spend the money we spend on her for other things. He knows I am lousy, still he wants me to let her go today! He says he will help me out.
She is here right now! I really dont want to do this, but I feel I have to, but I know my house will be in shambles!
HELP!
