Did you make up any songs for your kids to teach them something? If so, please share.

The song I made up went like this:
Modeh Ani lifanecha, melech chai vikayam, shehachezarta bi nishmasi, bichemla raba emunasecha.
Thank you Hashem for giving me back my neshama...
I love being with you the whole night through
But I love doing mitzvos too
And I can only do them in the day
So thats why I say
Thank you!

Its our first thing when we wake up in the morning song, if you havent figured out...

I made up a theme song for ds during the first few months to the tune of the 7 dwarves song (I think that's where it's from)

All he does is eat all day, eat all day,
eat all day, all he does he eat all day,
la la la la la...

I like yours much better!!!

Because you stuff all that you see into your face...

Well.....I made up this song a couple of Fridays ago, when ds was refusing to nap and also refusing to sit nicely in his infant seat and watch me work. It's not so nice, but I figure he doesn't understand the words anyhow, although for some reason, he cried louder when I sang the song than before. LOL

(To the tune of Hanschen klein, similar to Yonatan Hakatan)

Poopskilein, Shnupskilein (that's his nickname)
Don't you see I don't have time?
Wait in line,
You'll be fine,
Poopski, Shnupskilein.

How chinuchi is that? shock

I have a song I changed and sing to uriel while changing his diaper...

"You have a poo-oopy
inside your diaper,
mommy will clean it up
you are so dirty
it isnt fun to stoop
in your own pile of poop
mommy will clean you up
make it all better
mommy will wipe you, mommy will wipe you, mommy will wipe you
wipe up your tushie."

Then after changing him and getting him dressed...

"You had a poohoopy
inside your diaper
mommy did clean it up,
made you all better
mommy did wipe you, mommy did wipe you, mommy did wipe you
cleaned up your tushie..."

To the tune of...

When my 4 year old was born I used to sing this to her, to the tune of "You are my sunshine":
I love my mommy, I love my mommy
I love my mommy ve-ry much
I love my mommy I love my mommy
Yes I do, I do, I do.

Now, 4 years later, I was humming "You are my sunshine" and my 10 year old daughter started to sing "I love my mommy etc.". Very cute.

I train 'em well though, don't I? Tongue Out

We practically sing all day. Made up songs stick best in the family’s head. When we are toilet training, it’s a loud yelping tune to the words of “yay, yay, yippee hurray, Ezra made a pippi in the toilet, today” replace Ezra with our kids name, replace poop with your own version for poop. Do I need to spoonfeed you ? :-(

I have a song with a tune for each of my children. The words are always the same with a different name and a different tune. I usually make it up as soon as they get their name and sing it to them all the time (except with my eldest who only got his when he was six months old and he has different words)
The words are basically:
[child's name] hachamud(ah)
[child's name] hamatok(ah)
[child's name] hatzadik(ah)

Even my older kids love me to hug them and sing "their" song to them.

My eldest has this song (to the tune of Popeye the Sailor Man)
Ani Ariel hamalach,
Ani ochel bamitbach,
halachti haira
liknot shimrei birah
ani Ariel hamalach!
[translation:
I'm Ariel the angel
I eat in the kitchen
I went to town
to buy brewer's yeast
I'm Ariel the angel]
This was because when I first weaned him to the bottle I used to put brewer's yeast powder in milk (no formulas).

Here's another, which we sing while we wait for Abba to come home (my own tune):
Anachnu mechakim le'abba shelanu,
Anachnu kvar rotzim sheyavo habayta
Uchshehu yavo, nihiyeh meod smechim,
ki oto anachnu ohavim.

[we are waiting for our Abba
we want him to come home already
and when he comes we will be very happy,
because we love him]

and another (while getting dressed - this is a chinuchi one)

Chorus:
Anachnu mitlabshim, [we are getting dressed]
lovshim et habegadim, [wearing our clothes]
tzarich lihyot tzanua, [we have to be tzanua]
lo lihyot parua, [and not to be wild]
tzarich lihyot tzanua,
lo lihyot parua.

Lovshim et hachultzah, [we wear our shirt]
me'al hagufiyah, [on top of our undervest]
lovshim gam michnasayim [we wear pants too]
lechasot et haraglayim [to cover up our legs]
lovshim gam michnasayim
lechasot et haraglayim.

[chorus]

chovshim et hakipah [we wear our kipah]
vegam tzitzit ksheira, [and a kosher tzitzit too]
gorvim et hagarbayim, [we put on our socks]
venoalim et hanaalaim [and buckle up our shoes]
gorvim et hagarbayim,
venoalim et hanaalaim
[chorus]

Breslov, at first I was too embarrassing to post my song, but you gave me the courage Wink

This is the song I used to sing when DS was a newborn, and I wanted DH to change his diaper:

(Sing to the tune of "I Have a Little Dreidel" in a baby's voice)

I have a little tushie
It is so very cute
But when it's red and rashy
Dirty diaper I blame you!

Ooooooh....
Dirty Dirty Diaper
I made it by myself
And when my Abba's ready
He'll change me, I won't smell!

Very Happy

Oh I forgot, this is another one (the family hug song):
Chibuk le'Ima, chibuk le'[name of child]
shneinu beyachad,
bechibuk gadol echad,
shneinu beyachad,
bechibuk gadol echad!

[a hug for Ima, a hug for (name of child)
both of us together
in one big hug,
both of us together
in one big hug.]

If other chidren want to join in, then we continue the first line with each of the childrens' names and sing "kulanu beyachad" (all of us together) this way we have family hugs with as many children as are available and sometimes Abba joins in too!

whe my baby didnt sleep at night when she was first born I would rock her singing,
it time to go to sleep now
its time to go to sleep
close ur eyes and
have sweet dreams,
mummy is here
daddy is here
and we love you very very much
but....its time to go to sleep now

and I would stat the song again, she would usually fall asleep as I sung it.
