She's almost 4. We were in Israel last week from England. Since then she's had a bad cough but now it's gone really bad.

My oldest son has asthma. I'm beginning to think that she has it too as it's in the family and she has coughed a lot since she was born. I'm going to take her to the dr after Purim. Does anyone think it's urgent?

My son with asthma has been coughing bad since we're back too. Is this a sign of coronovirus? If my father c.v catches it from us it'll be extremely dangerous. We were together on Shabbos and plan to be together Purim iyH.

What would you do?

Call your pediatrician! And keep her away from everyone else as much as possible. Wash your hands and practice good hygiene in the meantime! Refuah shleimah!

I just read that a man in his 60's has died this evening from a hospital round the corner from me! It's getting too close for comfort. He did have serious underlying health issues but still very worrying Sad Hashem will help.

To be on the cautious side I would call pediatrician before interacting with others. Don't go into doctors office before checking with them

No! I don't think this is an emergency. She has had this on and off since she's born. I just hope it's not worse because of the virus etc c.v. do you know what'll happen if I call nhs direct now? They'll come out with a team of people to test us and put us in quarantine for Purim. I'll see how she is throughout the night and call my Dr first thing tomorrow morning.

Thank you. I'll get some pure (not from concentrate) juice tomorrow.

It’s people like this I’m most worried about. If NHS says you need to be in quarantine over Purim then it’s no mitzvah for you to be out and about. In fact it’s quite the opposite. Incredibly selfish.

ETA you were in Israel right? It’s entirely possible she does have Coronavirus. It wouldn’t just be overreacting on their part.

Yes we were in Israel but I don't think it matters so much where we were
It's the planes/airports I was and am more worried about.

Okay, fair enough. But if you think she might have it wouldn’t you want to quarantine anyway, even on Purim, to make sure you don’t C’V cause other people to get it?

Please see the dr ASAP! And try to make her the most comfortable in he mean time. Warm baths, nebulizer, or vaporizer. It’s really painful to cough so badly.

If they think you need quarantine perhaps that's what you should do?
I wish they would test more where we are - no-one gets tested unless they come to the hospital really ill - so who knows what's going around.

Don't take her to the doctor without calling first, that might just spread it more.

Rabbi Eliezer Kron has a Shiur on Torah Anytime. He says it might be a galactic requirement to get tested despite the inconvenience if one suspects. Listen to the Shiur it’s not a joke. Yes super disappointing to quarantine over Purim but it might actually be the Halacha. I recommend not just a doctor but talking to a Rav before going anywhere on Purim. (And definitely avoid exposure to your father. It could be dangerous to him even if it’s not corona)

My toddler too. Doc says it’s bronchitis. No tests were done. He’s been on nebulizer treatment since Friday. I’m not too worried though.
