IDK
I do know that many of these lifeguards who work in the summer are very young-some are only teens.

So the lifeguards checked out before all the kids had left the pool area? That's insane.

I wonder if the child went back after the lifeguard checked out. All the lifeguards had checked out that their pool was empty.

Nine years old isnt an infant that cant pick themselves up when they fall. This story is insane. And if the place was crowded, no one saw him go under and not come up, and yelled for help?
Theres a lot that we obviously dont know about how it happened.

If the pool is empty, the lifeguards are supposed to lock up before leaving the pool area.
Mevater, if a child can't swim and falls into a pool rachmana litzlon, they can't get up or swim up.

I doubt we will ever know the full details unfortunately. And this is just another reason why us mothers are wrecks until our kids get home on these trips. I have been counting down the trips since the beginning of summer and I just. Can't. Get this out of my head.

I was at this park last week. If the drowning happened in the overcrowded wave pool, I can totally see how it happened....

Agree. Wave pool is loaded with few lifeguards. There's no way they can see all kids when dark and wave is on

We can also ask why they are taking the kids to a water park during the three weeks. But then again, another little girl was killed in her classroom the other week so it has nothing to do with what time they go or when they go or where they go. This is what Hashem wanted and what He wants is for the best even if its painful and we dont understand any of it. If only Moshiach were here already. BDE
