Weird! It looks too perfect to be a mouse nibble.
Cut that part off, and eat the rest. Keep your other apples in the fridge until you find out what's going on.

Do u see any droppings? That's usually a first sign of mice...
Are u sure the hole wasn't there when u bought it?

Definitely wasn't there when I bought it.
I only bought it last night, and I made sure they were perfect so I know it wasn't there...

Possibly caused by a worm. Cut up apple and inspect.

Did you leave the apple out or was it in the fridge?
Did it only happen to one apple?

They were in a cupboard.
It's the only one like this, but the others were in a bag, this had fallen out.
Could it be from a cockroach? Dh said he saw one in there a few days ago.

You need to be more careful if you have cockroaches ams possibly mice.

If you have cockroaches in the cupboard you cannot put food in there! They will get to anything not sealed. Store your fruits in the fridge.

Roaches can chew right through plastic bags, too. It doesn't slow them down in the least. I found out that mice can chew through expensive Tupperware!
It's probably time to call and get an inspection, just to make sure.

Looks very much like a mouse enjoyed this apple. I live in a mouse infested building. I'm a pro. Lol

I've seen mice eat apples in this way. I've also seen mice eat apples in a much sloppier, less symmetrical way. Mice have different personalities. I would just throw out this apple. And I would get mouse sticky traps and get rid of the mice. I know sticky traps are cruel, but if you go by every few hours, the mice will not suffer too long. And nothing else works like sticky traps, and poison is crueler, though you don't see it.
