I'm jealous of posters serving leftovers. My kids won't touch leftovers, even if they loved it the first time. I cook almost exact and dh eats the tiny bit of extra if I ever have any. What's your secret??

No secret. I just DO and they can like it or lump it. I usually make just enough but when there is leftover, I serve it. Some things are “planned overs” like the chicken soup that I serve as soup again during the week and then as a creamy noodle casserole or chicken pot pie again the same week. So the same soup has 3 meals. Earlier this week I made chicken for dinner and for some reason I made too much. It will 100% be served again and by this point, the kids know that its too bad if they dont like it.

Leftovers Sunday night. Sweeten with a desert (a cookie works fine here ) or some frozen hot dogs or borekas for those who eat properly (the leftovers) first.
Also we never call it leftovers!! I Just say "there's chicken soup and some kugal....etc"

Tonight is home made burgers with potatoe wedges and salad. There's fresh veg soup on the stove for whoever wants. Mine tend to eat the soup as a snack an hr or so before dinner is ready...which works.

I like to make extra sides before shabbos for dinner on Sunday or Monday then I just make or buy a new protein. I never have enough leftovers for a full meal.

Chicken lo-mein

3/4 package whole wheat or regular spaghetti - cooked.
1 lb package chicken cutlets – cut into pieces

Sauce: (I usually double the sauce because I add a lot of vegetables)
1/3 cup oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
pepper
2 tsp chicken soup mix
1 tsp sugar

Vegetables (Choose whatever you like from this list. I do whatever I have in my house.):
mushrooms
baby corn
1-2 peppers cut into large wedges or diced large
1 onion cut into large wedges or diced large
2 zucchinis sliced
carrots cut into sticks
celery cut into sticks
(or substitute with any other stir fry veggies)

Mix pre-cooked spaghetti, raw chicken and raw vegetables in a 9x13 (or larger) pan.
Pour sauce on top, mix.
Cover tightly and bake for 1.5-2 hours at 375

Thank you so much!!!! Will make this tonight!

Sure!

1 lb. ground beef
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 package jumbo pasta shells
1/2 jar marinara sauce

Cook pasta according to directions on box. Mix meat with ketchup, garlic and onion powder; spoon meat mixture into shells. Pour some sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Place meat-filled shells on top of sauce. Pour remainder of sauce over shells. Cover tightly; bake at 350 for 1 to 1.5 hours.

Sound delicious! Do you cook the shells first?

Meatballs and pasta. (I ran out of spaghetti, so whatever I find in my pantry).
Cut up vegie sticks or salad- whatever I have time for.

Some of these suppers seem so patchkedike. So many steps and ingredients. I'm amazed.
I make huge pots (10 lbs at a time) of meatballs, freeze them in 1-1 1/2 pound bunches, and serve almost weekly. One of the most popular suppers.

Some of these suppers sound delicious but I don't have time for all of that.

How do you make creamy noodle casserole? Chicken pot pie?

Tonight my kids are having a well deserved pizza party! They are working so hard studying for multiple tests these days. Some even woke up early to study again this morning before today’s tests. I will treat them with pizza and fries later.
DH will not eat pizza. I made lots of fried schnitzel last night. I will heat up leftovers and make fresh rice.

Chicken pot pie - I make a white sauce and add tons of chicken broth from leftover soup. I let the white sauce get really thick on top of the stove and once it thickens, I add two ladles of soup at a time, letting it get thicken and then add more stock and so on and so forth. Then I add a bag of frozen peas, and carrots and a can of diced potatos. Then I add the leftover chicken from the soup. Season with garlic powder and onion powder. I pour into a piecrust and cover with puff pastry dough (brush with egg). Bake.

Casserole - same as above but I pour it over pasta and mix instead of pie crust and leave out the potatos. Bake if you want but I never do.
