My own recipe, tweak it to your liking:
In the container that the dip will be stored (I use the disposable 32 oz containers if usung smaller, then use less tomatoes and garlic . )
chop up 3-4 plum tomatoes
Add, 1 frozen crushed garlic per tomatoe.
Vegetable or canola oil, pour about 1/4 Cup into the container.
Add a squirt of sriracha sauce, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes and salt to taste.
Using an immersion blender blend all the ingredients until the dip turns orange and is smoothe and not too liquidy like the store bought dip.
Cover and refrigerate . Tastes best after sitting overnight in the fridge but good freshly made as well.
