Need a recipe for this dessert

Anybody have a recipe for this thing that I have had by others...It is kind of like a Napoleon, layers of graham crackers and some kind of rich creamy pudding kind of stuff with chocolate frosting on top. I'd love to make it for shabbos if anyone can help with a recipe. Thanks!

I whip up a large container of Rich's Redi-whip and add a packet of vanilla pudding as it whisks.

Layer graham crackers and the redi-whip.

I end with a thin layer of redi-whip and then drizzle chocolate syrup over the top...

is this pudding mix or one of the already made puddings (like the hunts kind)? I've seen this reciopie and never knew which one to use

I think this is the kind in the packet. so do you put this in a 9x13? I cant imagine graham grackers tasting good like that, like how do oyu eat it, does it get soggy? is it supposed to?

If you use Hunt's, it will be dairy... and it's ready made so you can probably do without the redi-whip

Add a packet of instant pudding to the redi-whip as you whisk it.

Regarding soggy graham crackers... the actual dough used in real Napoleons is a bit on the soft side. The graham crackers get soft enough that they won't crack when you try to cut the cake into pieces. Besides, how far in advance are you going to make it? What makes you think there will be leftovers? :)

I think it's served frigerated.

The graham crackers soften, but it doesn't turn into a gross sogginess.

this sounds yum, kmelion! me being a chocolate lover would probably use chocolate pudding mix, however. Wink

now that I think about it, a lot of pareve stuff doesn't taste great. the chocolate is better becaue it hides the pareve taste.

from KBD Short on Time.

butter or marg, for greasing
2 (3.4 oz) boxes instant vannilla pudding & pie filling
2 1/2 c. milk/soy milk
1 c heavy cream or nondairy whipping cream
1 box honey graham crackers
3 oz. good quality semi-sweet chocolate, broken into 1/2 in pieces
2/3 c honey

use butter/marg to grease 9x13 pan.

whisk milk and pudding until thoroughly blended.

on high speed, beat wipping cream until thick and stiff peaks form.

fold cream into pudding.

Arrange single layer crackers in pan. Top with half pudding mixture. spread using spatula.

Top w/ second layer crackers and spread other half of mixture over it. Top with a 3rd layer crackers.

Melt chocolate and honey in microwave until smooth.

Spread over crackers.

Place in refrigerator uncovered.

hope it's ok... typing with one hand and holding dd in the other!

I make it the same as you Kmelion, but I spread a can (or less) of cherry pie filling on top of the top layer of whip cream, so it's cherry pie. My daughters don't spread the cherry pie filling they make designs from it so it looks pretty(they don't particularly like the cherries in the pie filling etc. but they have fun designing with it, nonetheless)

Would an alteration of this be good? I got a graham cracker shell and mixing 1 chocolate pudding mix with rich's whip and dumping it in the shell? sound doable? DD is eating up all the graham crackers and I forgot to get more

I split the soy milk in half & do 1 chocolate pudding & 1 vanilla. It makes a change sometimes. Then I use half the whip in each.
