I put mine on for about 15 - 20 minutes in the oven, some people cook it for less but I just like to be safe.

Someone just told me a foolproof way to poach salmon perfectly. Put salmon in pot of cold water. Bring to boil. Let boil for one minute. Take off flame. (actually I forget if you should take the fish out of the water or leave it.)

Allow dh and I to be the weirdos of the group.
Dh and I ONLY like fish if it is "overdone." I won't even touch fish that looks barely cooked or just past sushi. I usually bake salmon for 35 min on 180c/365 F. Guests often compliment me on my salmon dishes & take 2nd helpings.
I cook tilapia in a covered pan (morroccan fish recipe) for a minimum of 30 min.

The following works for me every time:
Bake uncovered at 350 for 30 minutes.
Or broil on low for 7 minutes each side for thick pieces.
