Sorry to bring this issue, but I did not find any post or forum on this.
Do you?
Are there any halachas on cleaning a dead body, what is the procedure, or everything is about minhaguim?
I really would like to know more, I am a sort of "halachic" person, so for me, doing it only "from the heart" does not help. I would like to do it accordingly.

The tahara is done by the Chevra Kadisha, who have learned all the many details of the halachos.
Is your question regarding someone who is very ill, or who has passed on?

actually I consider myself part of the Chevra KAdisha in my community!!
It was a long time I din;t do any tahara until yesterday, I was pregnant, so, returning made me remember that I have sooooo many questions and basically I always get the answer to talk to others that also do it, so I guess I came to talk here....

I have done numerous taharas and almost everything regarding the tahara is halacha. There may be some people who allow machine-made tachrichim and others who want only hand-sewn but all taharas are the same. Differences in cleaning the mais and pouring the water may occur due to the cause of death. There are some maisim who are immersed in the mikveh rather than having the water poured from buckets. May Moshiach come so that this discussion does not have to come up!

So I guess we shouldn't talk here about it, like in detail?
