I was looking at some gefilta fish recipe and saw they used NOT sweet gefilta fish
I didn't even know this existed.
What brand makes not sweet gefilta fish?

I see recipes that call for gefilta fish with no sweetener at all. I am curious if it exists in pre frozen loaves, or you have to make it yourself. I don't like gefilta fish because it's sweet, but the recipes sound interesting.

cbg, if you want a recipe for not sweet gefilte fish, I can give you one. My mum never made it sweet. She always put some pepper in instead.

My saba says non sweet is Litvak.
We sometimes makes non sweet. We like both.

I prefer the regular fish taste. just look in the grocery for the kind without sugar.

Bobbies (that comes in a log) or Hymans (that comes in a rectangular tub)
Though I suspect they're UK brands as I recall they have Manchester hechsher...
But surely your local fishmonger can sell you unsweetened gefilte fish mix?
