Last night I decided to pop some popcorn after the latkes and donuts (as if we didn’t eat enough). As it was popping, I made a caramel in a saucepan and then mixed well with the popcorn. I told the kids to wait until it was dry before eating because the caramel was very hot but I liked it when it was wet too.
I didn’t measure so have fun experimenting. I mixed sugar, corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt and pepper. I poured it over the popcorn when it was bubbling.

Sounds yum. You can also make it just with 2 parts brown sugar to one part sugar.

Just saw this now it sounds heaven. I would love to do this for our meeting tonight. I don't have any corn syrup. What do you do with the sugars the brown and white? Do you cook it till it comes a carmel look to it?
