Lemeiseh I wasn't thinking "poetry" when I threw this together--I was thinking "Toddler book", because that's what the thread title "The dog barks!" sounded like to me.
Oh, I see, to make it a toddler book it would have to read thus:
The dog barks, arf! arf!
The cow lows, moo, moo.
The owl hoots, whoo? whoo?
The rooster crows, er-er-er-OOOO!
The pigeon coos, brrrp, brrrp
The lion roars, AAAARRR, AAAAARRR!
The wife sighs, oy, oy
The husband snores, snxggcrghnkxaaar!
