We're making a party Motzei Shabbos and I wanted to cut the vegetables for a veggie platter in advance. Will they stay fresh if I put them in a closed container? Is it better to pack them with some ice?
Thanks

I would cut the veggies and make the platter Friday, cover tightly with cling wrap, keep it in the back of the fridge, it's colder.

We do it always for the shul kiddush. Cut the veggies and keep them separately in ziplock bags. No need to ice (which would melt and make the whole thing messy and mushy). If anything, don't use the centre bit of cucumber (the part with seeds).

I put a folded paper towel in the plastic bag with cut veggies -- it absorbs the excess liquid and keeps the veggies from getting soggy.
