I'm making an evening simcha and I would love to make the food in advance so I'm not so busy with it on the day. It's dairy- pastas, salads, maybe a soup /rolls. Can I freeze sauce for pasta?

A tomato based sauce, yes.
A milk/cheese based sauce doesn't freeze so well.

Is it only soups and pasta?
What about mini pizzas, lasagna, quiches, focaccias, borekas with cheese and spinach wrapped in filo?

Onion soup- with butter no cream freezes fab!
Lasagna

Sautéed mushroom/onions for Alfredo

For my son's chalaka one of the things I served was creamy mushroom sauce - I make without cheese but the recipe says you can add. (if you want fancier or a choice you can change the mushroom to salmon) I made it that morning or the day before and mixed it with the pasta in a foil dish, heated it up on a hotplate for the party. From the compliments I got, it was a hit with the adults.
