For my baby's Kiddush, I baked a whole bunch of stuff:
Chocolate-Chip Cookies
Chocolate-Chocolate-Chip Cookies (with white chips)
Lemon Bars
Chocolate-Mint Brownies
Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
Coffee-Toffee Bars
and a lot more, (it was over a year ago, so, I can't remember everything)
and we had Fruit Platters.
and, lots of drinks.
I found really cute pink teddy-bear plates at our paper-goods store, with pink napkins, and pink balloons etc....
After the Kiddush we had a huge lunch at our house with all of DH's and my siblings, and Parents. So, we kind of continued the party all day.
You can also have:
Vegetable Platters
Crackers
Dips
Fish
If you really want to go out of your way, you can also serve:
Cholent and Kugel....
But, that's a lot of work...
Do you have any family who live near you, who can help out?

Sorry! I should have mentioned right away, that we made her kiddush when she was about 3 months old.
(She was born ON Purim, and then it was just too hectic with Pesach etc... so, that's just the way things worked out.)
I started baking at-least 2 weeks before, and froze everything in very tightly sealed containers.
SuperMom - Yeah, I also served the men with the pink dishes.
Do you think it was too girly for them?
(even if it was, I guess they didn't mind too much, because it didn't stop them from polishing off the platters.... LOL)

If she's little, I don't think you should have to be doing so much work.

Check out this site it is ice bowls interesting but what can be put into it? And are they considered muktzah and shabbos?
Sarag: For some odd reason when it comes to making these things I usually get a burst of energy going through my body.

Just a little tip:
you can sprinkle some pink choclate onto cookies/brownie bars, it really adds a girly touch.
I copied these in the 'he' version for my friend's vach-nacht, it was a hit! you can put it onto any chocolate bar...

supermom here in Manchester we have a group of girls that set up the kidduch for you. They come in early Shabbos morning and set it up, all you need to do is get the plates and have the food ready for them to put out. It makes it a more relaxing morning for you. Do you have anything like this in Israel? If not could you get a whle load of Sem girls or High school girls that could set it up for you. The girls enjoy things like this as they can use their imaginations. Use l'chaim cups under platters to rise them up. So the different platters are on different levels.

I copied the image from the web & played w/ it in microsoft word. I can e-mail the file to you, but you'll have to PM me your e-mail address cuz I don't think I can send attachments here. I bought the little torino chocolate bars and wrapped them with it.

We are making the kiddush on motzei shabbos. Do you think I could say no kids allowed? Just the adults from high school and up? If we invite all the kids we will have to be spending much more than we hoped to be spending.
The menu is as follows
bagels, cream cheese, tuna, egg salad,
Pasta salad, potato salad
cakes cookies
some candy, pudding and jello in plastic champane (not sure of spelling) glasses
veg. on sticks cut up veg. and some fruit.
If we invite all the kids too then we will have to buy more bagels and spreads and it will run us up double the price.

You can buy little choclate bars and on your computer you can make
little wrapers for the candy.

Mazal Tov, glad the Kiddush went well. You are totally amazing doing all that cooking by yourself.
