I was recently at someone for a meal and I really enjoyed their cabbage salad. I believe there was just purple cabbage and almonds - no ramen noodles, no sesame seeds... It was obviously a sweet salad.

Any ideas?

it was in the bina or mishpacha when they had a spread of all different salads about. I don't have the recipe written down but if noone else has it I will get you the recipe from my friend. Hopefully someone has it. Other wise I know approximately what is in.

Similar to BNM but I don't think there were sesame seeds there was a little different sauce. and it called for garlic flat breads sprinkled on top.

This recipe calls for both types of cabbage but you can make it only with purple

1 Bag Cabbage Shredded Purple
1 Bag Cabbage Shredded White
2 Scallions Sliced Diagonally
Optional
1 cup/s Slivered Almonds
1 cup/s Mayonaise
Dressing
1/4 cup/s Sugar
1/4 cup/s Vinegar
1/3 cup/s Water
3 Cloves Garlic Crushed
1/8 teaspoon/s White Pepper

Preparation
Dressing:
Combine all the ingredients and mix well.

Vegetables:
-Shred cabbage into separate bowls.
-Add toppings to each (scallions, almonds, and craisins, if you like).
-Add dressing to each of the bowls. (Note: Treat them like two separate salads and portion them on the plate in separate heaps.

The one with the nashnahsim (sour cream crackers) on top is also delicious but it also has white cabbage in it

I just made this one for supper tonight. It was delicious! Very different than the typical cabbage salad. I actually didn't have pecans so I skipped them and I added chow mien noodles instead because I wanted it to have a crunch.
