hi I will be teaching iyh tehilim to 9th/10th graders this year.
I was looking for:
1- ideas of projects I can give the girls.
I would like to give a research project connected with tehilim besides for the fact they will be ask to prepare/present a kapital of their choice to the class.
2- im also looking for stories in yiddish or simple hebrew about the power of tehilim (im lubavitch if that helps in choice of stories but would go for stories with other rebbeim) to give the girls to prepare and present. we had this as student with a dif subject - each girl one week - and I was really nice skillwise, gradewise...

any idea would be really appreciated. even not connected to my specific request.

thanx everyone

Take a look at the Kovetz Michtavim at the back of the Tehillim. There are some really beautiful stories there.

I dont know from teacher prespective, but from remembering HS days.....
Dont make them memorize perush hamilim, it will take away from the enjoyment. maybe make it extra credit or s/t.
Start with hallilukas, hallel..things they say in davening too, so they will feel more connected to it.

I taught tehilim for these grades 2 yeas ago!
There is a really cool website with very interesting mefarshim. It's called tehilim.net
Also, kehos published a serie of tehilim with chasidus commentaries. it's a compialtion. Last I know they only had 3 parts, but maybe by now, they have more.
If u want some material for specific prokim, pm me!
I have perek 1, 20, 67, 130 and 34

How can peirush hamilim be extra credit? Shouldn't that be the bare minimum - understanding the words that they're saying?

Maybe give out review sheets at the end of every Perek that just have the words and translation so they can study from that rather then having peirush hamilim interspersed w/ meforshim.

the way I thought about doing was having key words from each kapitel that they must know and the rest be general understanding (in their own words) of each posuk
