I bought sliced whitefish but I don't know how to prepare it. Can I just bake it on 350? For how long? I do not want to make it with any tomatoe sauce. Thanks.

You can boil it like gefilte fish. You prepare the broth, cook it for about 45 minutes and then add the fish and cook for about another 20-30 minutes.

What do you mean by prepare the broth? What do you put in the water? Sugar?
BTW, nice response time!

And BTW, I gave you the wrong cooking times. You cook the broth for an hour and the fish for another 40 minutes.

There are a few recipes in Spice and Spirit. The one I used to make was called "Coated Baked Whitefish." I don't know if copyright is an issue if I copy exactly, so here it is paraphrased, and more to the point:
Roll the fish in a mixture of mazto meal, salt, pepper and paprika. Bake the slices for 25 to 30 minutes at 350. Can be served warm or cold.
Or, if you don't want matzo meal, just use the spices.

So it acquires taste. 40 minutes is not long enough for the broth to become anything other than hot water with some spices.
