Homemade challah and homemade gluten free "bread"
Cold beet borsht with cucumbers, potatoes, and hard boiled eggs (no sour cream)
Corn on the cob (this is becoming tradition, it seems, as I go gluten free!)
Quinoa tabouli salad
Babaganoush
Salt and pepper cabbage salad
honey mustard chicken salad
fruity jello

Sounds yummy! Can you please share the recipe?
It is. It's really cheater- no honey in the recipe, but it tastes like it anyhow!
Basically take cooked plain chicken (thigh or whatever- I'm just cooking my chicken breast in cutlets in a pan with some salt), debone if necessary, cut into bite size pieces, mix with mayo, mustard, sugar, salt and garlic if necessary. I just do it all to taste.

I don't know if my oven will be fixed in time to cook, and I also don't know if we'll be allowed to use the stove.

At any rate ....

MENU

Rashi wine
defrosted whole wheat challah, maybe pull-apart since dd might be home

bought herring
TBD green salad

If we have an oven, I wanted to make shnitzel and roast little bitty fingerling potatoes that I got at Trader Joe's.

If not, I'll defrost soup (we call it Weed soup because of all the fresh herbs in it).

If oven, I might make banana muffins. If not, not.

Were you asking me? The blueberry pie was not expected to last more than one meal. In the event, not everyone wanted it so I got to eat my favorite dessert till Motzai Shabbos. We also ended up with berry compote that a friend sent over. And my guest for Shabbos day preferred fresh melon to compote, pie or ice cream bars. Only the kids had the ice cream. The cake was my Shabbos cake which was going to served if there was any leftover from the morning (there wasn't.) The kakosh was going to come from the freezer, but it stayed there because we realized towards the end of the meal that the clock in the dining room was 35 minutes slow, so the men had to bensch really quickly and run to shul and no dessert was served.
