Here's what I do:
2 loaves gefilte fish defrosted 75%
3 cans tomato sauce (15 oz. each can)
3 cans water
3 cups of sugar (maybe a bit less because it comes out very sweet)
3 onions
Put tomato sauce, water, sugar and onions in a pot on high flame. Form balls from the defrosted fish and add to sauce. Lower the flame to med-low, and cook for 1 hour. Freezes very well.
Optional - add sautee'd onions, sautee'd or fresh peppers, can of mushrooms, carrots, zuchinni, or other veggies to the sauce.

I saute an onion to a red and green pepper. When soft and cool, I hand blend it, add a can tomato sauce to one onion, pepper combo. This is the sauce for the defrosted bought rolled gefilte fish. Heavenly.

yuuuum!! sautee onion carrot zuchinni and celery. then add 1 can tomato sauce and 1/2 can of water, a little more than 1/4 cup sugar, garlic, salt and pepper to taste. cook loaf unwrapped for like an hr. or if ur making balls I guess just drop them into boiling sauce. really good everyone loves it! and the sauce is so good as a dip for challah
