Anyone plan on listening or watching the state of the union tonight?

Usually we listen on the radio, but tonight we will be watching it on http://www.c-span.org
The line up is Wednesday, February 2
C-SPAN State of the Union Preview Program
On C-SPAN at 8pm ET
Wednesday, February 2
President Bush State of the Union Address
On C-SPAN & C-SPAN2 at 9pm ET

I like to see the reactions and see the president's expressions cause it says a lot!

RG- its so important! He is going to be talking about major domestic reform. Everyone always criticizes the pres that he doesn't focus enough on home- well he is tonight!

yeah, its too bad theres no real leaders today who want to do whats right for the country. but if its bush against kerry, bush is better any day. I see the right wing republicans moving to the left in disguise... Sad

it wont change anything, believe me.
not unless he pledges to close all the borders from the illegal immigrants.

he just cant fight a successful war against terrorists while he leaves the back door open for them with a welcome sign...

So take action girl!! Lobby the man! Write letters, get others too. You can make a difference.

I agree with you by the way. I also think the airlines need to be revamped and yes, profiling must be done!

IY"H! I think a lot of it is really do able.

I have another idea for social security! People need to start having more kids so that more people will be paying in.

That hug btw was a tear jerker!

freilich- what are doing listening to the state of the union address? Very Happy

sarahd- he spoke about his plans to reform social security, plans for terrorism, and he even mentioned the words "closing the borders!!!" not that it will happen in a million years, but no politician before has even said those words.

Its a start- first they have to even admit there is a problem! I don't care what those dems are saying today about social security... I love the idea! I would happily volunteer to be a test run with the new plan! Its not even a new plan... congress has had it for a long long time. I am so glad the president called the congress out on that.

Did you see the hug between the Iraqi woman and the mother of the fallen solider? Oh my gosh... I was crying so hard. It was so powerful. It said it all! I wish the Dems would focus on that!

BTW- you can still see it on http://c-span.org if you want to watch it.
