Hi,
I am trying to make home made gefilte fish. I bought the ground fish (whatever the cheap ground fish in Israel is) now what?
Thanks!

For the future, let me give you my recipe. It is fast, inexpensive and convenient.
You take two cans of tuna in oil, don't drain the oil
Chop a large onion and four carrots in the food processor with the tuna and oil.
Place in a mixing bowl. Add six eggs and one and a half cups of matzo meal, salt pepper and sugar to taste. Don't ask me why but if you add this to the food processor, the fish balls will fall apart. This MUST be mixed by hand!!
refrigerate until the water boils.
Boil a large soup pot with water, salt, pepper and sugar. Add two onions and two carrots.
Form balls with the fish mixture and add to the boiling water. Cook about 20 minutes. Don't overload the pot, do it in two or three shifts.
Drain and put on platter.
No one will know that it is not "real" gefilte fish.
