on the same note what is your black olive dip recipe please?

Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad
8 oz. romaine lettuce
1/2 box grape tomatoes, halved
1 Tbsp balsamic vinaiger
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic crushed OR 1/2 tsp garlic powder
salt to taste

With a spoon, mix balsamic vinaiger, olive oil, garlic and salt to taste in a plastic cup.
Pour over lettuce and tomatoes in salad bowl. Mix very well. Serve right away.

Black Olive Dip - got the idea from Mishie
1 can pitted black olives, drained
1/2 cup olive oil
4 cloves garlic

Process olives and garlic in food processor or blender. Stream in olive oil.

What size can for the black olive dip?

I changed the amounts on the balsamic salad right while you were quoting me, so the wrong amounts came up in your post. Can you edit your post to reflect 8 oz. romaine and just 1/2 box tomatoes? Thanks! Smile

done:)

What's abigael's salad?

Abigaels House Salad

Balsamic Vinaigrette:
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tsp water
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1 clove garlic minced
1/4 tsp salt
generous pinch of fresh ground pepper
1/2 cup extra light virgin olive oil

8 ounces mixed baby greens (mesclun)
1 ripe beefsteak tomato cut into 3/4 inch cubes
1 ripe yellow (or additional red) tomato cut in 3/4 inch cubes
1 cup English cucumber
1 cup canned garbanzo beans
1/2 cup sliced natural almonds toasted
8 cloves of garlic roasted and peeled
1/4 cup craisins

To make the vinaigrette, combine the vinegar, water, sugar, mustard, garlic, salt and pepper in a blender. With the machine running, gradually pour in the oil and blend until thickened.

In a large bowl toss the green red and yellow tomatoes, beans, almonds, roasted garlic and craisins. Add the dressing toss again and serve immediately.

*To roast the garlic, peel large, plump garlic cloves. place in a small, shallow baking dish, and add enough olive oil to cover completely. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in a preheated 200 degrees oven until the cloves are golden and completely tender, about one hour. Cool completely in the oil, and then remove garlic from oil.

Ya. I had a problem egging it the second time because my pastry brush is fleishig and I made it in the milchig oven. But it was tasty.
