My sister-in-law had a baby and I'm going to visit her in the hospital. I asked her if there's anything specific that she wants (food) and she said she has everything but I don't want to go empty handed.

Ditto on the box of chocolates. One thing not to bring is pink or blue teddy bears! (If you want blue ones I can lend you some and more!)

After giving birth one of the things I always wanted was a big salad. I don't think it's a weird idea at all.

When I was holed up in the hospital after my section, a friend brought me a big healthy salad. I think I devoured the whole thing before I even said hello to her!
