I'm in the middle of making the Buffalo Wings recipe from the Spice & Spirit cookbook and I tasted the sauce and it's way too hot! This is the first time I am cooking with hot sauce and I know it should zing but it's too much. What can I put in to tone it down a bit?

Actually, the recipe called for 1 whole stick of margarine but I put in only half a stick because I thought I would make it less fattening but after I read online for other ways to tone down a hot sauce it said put in dairy products so I figured if I put in the rest of the margarine it would help. It did and the sauce was a bit better! It tasted delicious and smelled a bit like Dougies bbq sauce.
