Outside.

We don't have enough glass boxes for everyone though, so the mitzvah one we do outside, and the others are on the counter in the kitchen which you can see from the doorway and living room

What does that mean? "For show"
You don't make the bracha on the one outside?

The one outside is not just for show. Thats the one doing the pirsumei nisa.

We light one outside, only room for one there and the reat on our kitchen counter. The only window to the road is in my bedroom, so thats not an option.
The other windows go into our yard, with a fence to the road, and toward the other homes.

Playroom. It's our yomtov room (it's also our sukka and Pesach kitchen!)

We always lit in the dining room. But I’m my current home we have a window next to a large strip of kitchen counter , so I like that we light there . It faces the front of the street instead of the back and it feels safer, away from the kids.

The only window in our apartment that faces the front is our bedroom so we light right near my bed.

Utility room, But our landlord opened it up so it completely opend to the kithen and its tiny so most of us are standing in the kitchen, for all the apartments ontop of us its closed off and they light there.
The other option is our bedroom but we are entrance level so dont like having our blinds open for the neighbourhood to see in.
My son lights on the kitchen high sideboard, can be seen from the door and is in the middle of kitchen/livingroom.

We live in Israel. When we moved to this apartment, DH walked our Rav home from shul before Chanukah so he could point out our house and ask where to light.

We have a window in our living room that faces the street, but there is a porch off of the living room that blocks the view of the window from the street. It's questionable if you may light on a porch, but that's really what you see from the street.

We were told that DH should first light outside by the entranceway to our apt. building and say the brachos there. Then he goes upstairs without talking and lights another menorah on our porch, overlooking the street.
My kids all light their menorahs on the porch and say their brachos there.

Study/den

We have two rooms that face the front of our house. In the living room, the couch is right in front of the window and it would be a hassle to light there. So we light in the study/den. We set up a folding table in front of the window. Unfortunately, the plants outside that window are somewhat overgrown so you can't see all the menorahs clearly from outside.

We light four outside since that's all there's room for out there. The rest of the kids light in the living room. We have windows in our living room facing two different streets , so we divide the menorahs between both windows.

Living room since that is the window that faces the street. The houses where I live seem to all have this feature.

The houses in my area are very small, so we light in our main room = entrance room, den, dining room, and living room all rolled into one!
