Is there such a thing as kashering a dishwasher?

We thought we'd kasher ours, so paid extra for stainless steel, and an extra set of racks. Then, we found out that the racks are attached to wheels, and there's the fan blade that swishes the water, and for the cost of setting it up, you could practically buy a portable dishwasher.

So, that was all a waste of money, and we hand wash.
